Annales Academiae Scientiarum Fennicae

The board of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters has decided to relaunch the general publication series Annales Academiae Scientiarum Fennicae. The series will provide a forum for articles where members of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters and other academics can present topical questions and challenges from their fields of research for those interested in science and its progress. The series will provide a suitable platform for reviews and forecasts, multidisciplinary summaries, and assertations touching on science policy.

Articles may be written in Finnish, Swedish, or English. A peer review procedure will be applied in the publication of the articles. Professor Anna Mauranen and Academician Risto Nieminen have been appointed as managing editors for the series of publications.

Annales Academiae Scientiarum Fennicae

Annales Academiae Scientiarum Fennicae is aimed at a wider audience: the target audience of the series includes researchers in various fields but also readers with an academic education who are interested in science and research. All publishing activities of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters are based on high-quality scientific research, which includes reviewing the results from the perspective of the wider picture and several fields of science and research, without forgetting the scientists as individuals. Articles can touch on the nature and variability of science and research data and both timeless questions and topical phenomena, and in addition to information, they can also provoke thinking and provide opportunities for discussion.

Returning to its roots, Annales Academiae Scientiarum Fennicae can be described as approachable, multidisciplinary, and where necessary, assertive. The series wants to illuminate the nature of science and scientific activities in understanding the world. We also aim to establish a dialog among various researchers, research trends, and authors and readers, as well as to highlight the work and thinking of high-level researchers.
