Hilkka and Otto Brusiin Foundation

The Hilkka and Otto Brusiin Foundation, which finances legal research, came under the auspices of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters at the end of 2006. It had functioned as a foundation since 1994, but it dates back to 1984, when the Otto Brusiin Scholarship Fund was created. The foundation is now administered by the Academy’s Governing Board.

The aim of the foundation is to maintain and develop interest and research in the philosophy and sociology of law and in the history of ideas in Finland by providing financial support for research work and the publicizing of its results.

Grants

Applications for grants from the Brusiin Foundation may be made in April or May each year, and the grants are distributed in October.
