Available grants
Eino Jutikkala Fund
The Eino Jutikkala Fund distributes about half a million euros a year in grants and prizes for research in the fields of the humanities. Application process is organised in April/May and the grants are awarded in October.
Öhmann Foundation
The Emil Öhmann Foundation awards grants for research into German language, translation and German literature. The application process will be held in April/May each year.
Institute grant
The institute grant by the Öhmann Foundation is targeted for a short-term research period at the Finnish Institute in Germany in Berlin.
Brusiin Foundation
The Hilkka and Otto Brusiin Foundation awards grants for research in the philosophy of law, sociology of law and legal history. Grants are awarded every other year.
Väisälä Fund
Vilho, Yrjö and Kalle Väisälä Fund distributes grants to representatives of fields of research included in the mathematical and natural sciences. The call for applications for the grants is open yearly in August/September.
Väisälä Project Grant
The Väisälä project grant is intended for researchers working in Finland at the early stages of the tenure track (assistant professor level) to set up their research group and cover the group’s research costs.
Mathematics Fund
The objective of the Mathematics Fund is to promote mathematical research. The Mathematics Fund does not have a fixed application period.
Post doc -pool
The Finnish Academy of Science and Letters is contributing to the Foundations’ Post Doc Pool in 2022-2024. The central idea of the Pool is to offer full funding for postdoctoral scholars who go abroad to do research after their doctoral dissertation.
