The registration starts on the 20th of September 2024.
If you are interested in presenting findings, best practices etc. related to the topics of the seminar, please send in your informal proposal by the 19th of June 2024.
The Finnish Academy of Science and Letters Adopts Guidelines for the Use of AI
The Finnish Academy of Science and Letters has developed guidelines for the responsible use of artificial intelligence. These guidelines aim to steer the utilization of AI within the Academy.
Statement: The future of Europe depends on robust, open and free science and education
The Finnish Academy of Science and Letters has signed the statement together with 27 other European Academies of Sciences. The statement is addressed to the candidates for the 2024 European Parliament elections.

UniOulu Science Day 17.4.2024
The Finnish Academy of Science and Letters is collaborating with the University of Oulu in UniOulu Science Day on 17.4. The event facilitates knowledge sharing through workshops, speeches and discussions. The event will be held in English.

Seminar: The Europeanisation of Research and Higher Education, 29.1.2024
Recent decades have witnessed a profound transformation of the European and global research and higher education system. In this seminar, Johan Östling from the Lund Centre for the History of Knowledge (LUCK) and Marja Jalava from Tampere University will discuss the topic from the perspective of the history of knowledge.
The seminar will take place at The Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters and online on Monday the 29th of January at 17:00 to 19:00.
Väisälä Prizes to Professor Anu Kankainen and Professor Lauri Oksanen
The Väisälä Prize is worth €15 000 and is awarded annually to young, already distinguished scientists in the field of mathematics and natural sciences. The two prizes were presented at an event hosted by the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters on Monday, 11 December 2023.
