The Väisälä project grant, 1.–31.1.2024
The Väisälä project grant is intended for researchers working in Finland at the early stages of the tenure track (assistant professor level) to set up their research group and cover the group’s research costs. The application period in 2024 is 1.1.–31.1.2024.

Väisälä Prizes to Professor Anu Kankainen and Professor Lauri Oksanen
The Väisälä Prize is worth €15 000 and is awarded annually to young, already distinguished scientists in the field of mathematics and natural sciences. The two prizes were presented at an event hosted by the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters on Monday, 11 December 2023.

Professor Juhani Knuuti receives the Pro Scientia prize
The Pro Scientia prize is awarded by the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters to a person or instance noted for speaking out, writing or engaging in other activities to the benefit of scientific study and research, thereby promoting the role of science in society. In 2023, the prize is awarded to MD and professor Juhani Knuuti. The value of the prize is 10 000 euros.

The 2023 Academy Award of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters was awarded at the Science Gala on 28 April 2023. The award was granted to Lea Pulkkinen, a professor of psychology.
