Last year the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters convened a multidisciplinary group of experts to present their views on ways of further improving Finland's long-term crisis resilience. On the bases of the group’s work, the statement ‘Bending, but not breaking’ was formed.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities has awarded the Gad Rausing Prize to member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters, Professor Terttu Nevalainen. The prize of 1,3 million Swedish crowns is awarded for outstanding research in humanities.
New book on the Folklore Fellows' Communications series has been released: "Dictionaries as Sources of Folklore Data". The book is edited by Jonathan Roper.
